An exact crop, without stretching
- Choose and rotate.
Open one image. Rotate left or right in 90-degree steps if needed.
- Select your area.
Drag on the preview, choose a shape or enter the exact left, top, width and height.
- Create and download.
Choose JPG, PNG or WebP. The exported dimensions match the selection.
For a 1,200 × 800 image, set Left to 200, Top to 0, Width to 800 and Height to 800. You get a centered 800 × 800 square. To make a smaller 400 × 400 copy, open the cropped download in Resize image.
Does cropping change file size or quality?
Export re-encodes the selected pixels. JPG and WebP quality can affect detail and size; PNG is lossless for the selected pixels. Cropping does not guarantee a file-size limit. Use Compress image afterward when a form has a KB limit.
Can I crop a photo for an application?
Use the exact requirements from the application. Cropping helps with shape and pixels, but it cannot guarantee acceptance or check official photo rules.
Why is a rotation resetting my selection?
Rotating changes the image coordinate system, so the selection resets to the chosen shape. Rotate first, then enter the final crop values. Animated WebP is exported as a still image.
Keep the part of the image that matters
Trim empty edges from a scan, frame a profile photo or isolate a signature. Use the visual selection for a quick crop and the pixel controls when you need a precise area.
Cropping removes the area outside your selection. Resizing changes the dimensions of the whole image instead. Choose Resize image when you want to keep the complete picture in proportion.
Free to use. No sign-up required.
How to use this tool

- Drag a selection or enter its left, top, width and height in pixels.
- Export in the required format and inspect the downloaded image.
A practical example
To make an 800 × 800 square from a 1,200 × 800 image, set Left to 200, Top to 0, Width to 800 and Height to 800. Resize the downloaded square if you also need smaller dimensions.
Before you finish
Cropping removes content outside the selected area. Check faces, text and document edges before exporting; the original file stays unchanged.
